Author Guidelines

The Journal of Stability Studies and Public Policy (JSSPP) welcomes original scholarly contributions that align with the journal’s focus on Stability Studies, public policy, governance, and related interdisciplinary fields. Authors are expected to ensure that manuscripts meet the journal’s academic, ethical, and technical requirements before submission.

  1. Manuscript Types

JSSPP considers the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Conceptual Articles
  • Policy Analysis Articles
  • Methodological Articles

Manuscripts must present original scholarly work and must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  1. Language

Manuscripts must be written in clear, coherent, and academically appropriate English. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript has been carefully edited for grammar, terminology, clarity, and consistency before submission.

Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to obtain appropriate language editing or proofreading before submitting their manuscript.

  1. Manuscript Structure

The structure of a manuscript may vary according to its type and disciplinary approach. Research articles will generally include the following elements:

  • Title
  • Author names and affiliations
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review or Theoretical Framework
  • Methods
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References

Theoretical, conceptual, review, policy, and methodological articles may adopt a different structure where appropriate. Regardless of manuscript type, submissions should present a clear research problem, appropriate scholarly grounding, a coherent methodological or analytical approach, and a substantive contribution to the field.

  1. Title, Abstract, and Keywords

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.

The abstract should normally contain 150–250 words and clearly communicate the research problem or background, objective, methodological approach, principal findings or arguments, and implications or contribution.

Authors should provide 3–6 keywords that accurately represent the main concepts, themes, or analytical areas addressed in the manuscript. Keywords should be separated by commas.

  1. Manuscript Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following requirements:

  • Paper size: A4
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Main text: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Text alignment: Justified
  • Referencing style: APA, latest edition

Tables and figures should be clearly numbered, titled, and appropriately referenced in the text. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all tables, figures, and other materials are properly cited and, where necessary, used with appropriate permission.

  1. References and Citations

JSSPP uses the APA referencing style. Authors must ensure that all sources cited in the manuscript appear in the reference list and that every reference listed has been cited in the text.

References should be accurate, complete, and consistent with the required citation style. Authors are encouraged to engage with relevant and recent scholarly literature, while also citing foundational works where appropriate.

Where applicable, authors should provide persistent identifiers such as DOI links for cited publications.

  1. Research Ethics and Integrity

All submissions must comply with applicable standards of research ethics and publication integrity. Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and integrity of their work and must not engage in plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, or other forms of research misconduct.

Where research involves human participants, personal data, or other ethically sensitive materials, authors should provide appropriate information regarding ethical approval, informed consent, data protection, or other relevant requirements.

Authors should also disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.

  1. Originality and Exclusive Submission

By submitting a manuscript to JSSPP, authors confirm that the manuscript is original and has not been published previously in substantially the same form. Manuscripts must not be simultaneously submitted to or under active consideration by another journal.

Any substantial use of previously published material must be appropriately acknowledged and disclosed to the editorial office.

  1. Submission and Peer Review

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s official online submission system. Authors should ensure that the submission is complete and that all required files and information have been provided.

Manuscripts are first assessed by the editorial team for suitability, originality, academic quality, and alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment may proceed to peer review.

JSSPP applies a double-blind peer-review process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. Peer review considers the manuscript’s originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity, significance, and relevance to the journal.

The final publication decision is made by the editor based on the overall assessment of the manuscript and the peer-review process.

  1. Open Access and Publication Charges

JSSPP operates under a Diamond Open Access model. The journal does not charge authors Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, acceptance fees, or publication fees.

All accepted articles are published immediately and freely accessible online under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), subject to the terms of that license.

  1. Copyright and Author Rights

Authors retain copyright of their published work. By publishing with JSSPP, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, archive, and make the published article publicly accessible.

Authors retain the right to share and reuse their published work in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.

  1. Submission Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript falls within the aims and scope of JSSPP.
  • The manuscript is original and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript follows the required structure and formatting.
  • The abstract and keywords meet the specified requirements.
  • All sources cited in the text are included in the reference list.
  • References and citations follow APA style.
  • Tables and figures are appropriately numbered, titled, and cited.
  • Ethical approval and informed consent requirements have been addressed where applicable.
  • All relevant conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
  • The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism and language quality.
  • The submission files and author information are complete.
